Beds, wardrobes and modular furniture often have to be taken apart to move safely. Our furniture assembly service dismantles them at your old home and fits them back at your new one.
Furniture assembly is needed in almost every move, and also when you buy new flat-pack furniture. Beds, wardrobes, modular kitchens units, study tables and TV units are the most common.
What is included
- Dismantling of beds, wardrobes and modular units
- Labelling and bagging of screws and fittings
- Refitting at the new home
- Fitting of new flat-pack furniture
- Minor adjustments and alignment
How we do it
- Check the furniture. We look at what needs to be dismantled and what can move as it is.
- Dismantle. Each piece is taken apart carefully and parts are numbered.
- Bag the fittings. Screws, bolts and hinges go into labelled bags taped to the main part.
- Move safely. Panels are wrapped so edges and laminate are not damaged.
- Refit. At the new home each piece is fitted back and checked for strength.
Looking after your things
Modern furniture is often made of engineered wood that weakens if screws are forced in and out. Our team uses the right tools, does not over-tighten, and replaces worn fittings when needed so the furniture is as sturdy as before.
What it costs
We give every customer a written price before we start. It mostly depends on a few things: number of pieces, wall-mounted units, replacement fittings and with the move or alone. Each bed, wardrobe or unit adds time. TV units and shelves fixed to walls need extra care. Worn screws or hinges may need replacing. Assembly costs less when booked with the move. Send us photos or a short video and you will usually have a price within 15 minutes during working hours.
A few tips
- Keep the original fitting manuals if you have them.
- Tell us about wall-mounted units in advance.
- Some old furniture may need new screws or fittings.
