Delivering in Mumbai
Mumbai buildings bring their own challenges. Many societies allow moves only at fixed hours and ask for advance permission, lifts are often small, and parking near the building is limited. Heavy vehicles also face no-entry timings in parts of the city, so we plan the delivery time around these rules and use a smaller vehicle for the last stretch when needed. At the new place the team unloads, puts furniture in the rooms you choose, fits the beds and wardrobes back together and takes the packing waste away.
Full truck or shared load?
If you are moving a full 2 or 3 BHK, a truck just for your goods is usually best. It is loaded at your home and goes straight to Mumbai. If it is a 1 BHK or a few rooms, a shared load costs less: your things travel with another family’s goods going the same way, and delivery takes a little longer. Because Mumbai is close, most moves are packed in the morning and delivered the same evening or the next morning.
Only luggage, a car or a bike
Plenty of people moving to Mumbai do not need a truck at all. Students and people starting a new job often send five or ten bags and boxes with our luggage service, and pay by the piece. Cars go on a car carrier and are checked with photos at both ends. Bikes and scooters are wrapped in foam and travel upright. Sending a vehicle along with your household goods costs less than booking it on its own.
Weather and timing
The Mumbai monsoon from June to September brings very heavy rain and waterlogging in some areas. We cover every item fully and keep track of the weather, and if a low-lying area is flooded we plan the delivery for when roads are clear.
What it costs
The price for Pune to Mumbai mostly comes down to how much you are sending, whether it goes in its own truck or a shared one, and the 150 km of fuel and tolls in between. Stairs without a lift at either end add a little, and so does a car or bike.
