Kothrud is one of Pune's largest and best-known residential areas, along Karve Road and Paud Road, with MIT-WPU and the Vanaz metro station nearby.

What shifting in Kothrud is like
Most homes here are established societies, old bungalows and new redevelopment projects. We are often around Karve Road, Paud Road, Kothrud Depot, Vanaz metro station, MIT-WPU and Dahanukar Colony, which helps a lot on moving day: we already know the roads, the parking and the usual society rules.
Many Kothrud lanes are narrow and parking is tight. We use a smaller vehicle for the pickup when needed and shift goods to the main truck nearby.
Short moves usually go to Warje, Karve Nagar, Bavdhan or Erandwane. A move like that is normally packed, moved and set up in one day. If you only have a fridge, a bed and a few cartons, ask for few item shifting. We send a smaller tempo and you pay for that, not for a whole truck.
What the day looks like
Say you are shifting a 2 BHK from near Karve Road to Bavdhan. Our team of four reaches around 9 in the morning with cartons, bubble wrap and tape. The kitchen and the fragile things are packed first, then the bedrooms, then the living room, and every box gets the room name written on it. Beds and wardrobes are taken apart and the screws go into small labelled bags. By early afternoon the truck is loaded, heavy things at the bottom and fragile boxes on top. At the new place the same people unload, carry each box to its room, fit the furniture back together and take the empty cartons away. Most days like this are over by evening, and you sleep in your own bed in the new home that night.
Redevelopment and family moves
In Kothrud we see a lot of redevelopment moves. The building is being rebuilt, so the family moves out to a rented flat for a few years and then moves back into the new one. We do both trips. Other families are moving to a bigger home, or bringing parents to live with them, and only some of the furniture is needed in the new place. The rest can stay in our storage until you decide what to do with it.
From Kothrud to another city
When people from Kothrud move out of Pune, the cities we hear most often are Mumbai, Bangalore, Nagpur and Delhi. We pick up from your door here and deliver to your new home, with extra packing for the long road and a message on WhatsApp when the truck leaves and when it reaches. The other way round works too: if you are moving into Kothrud from another city, we can bring your goods here or just do the unloading and setting up.
What it costs
Honestly, it depends on what you are moving. Taking one room from Kothrud to Bavdhan is a few hours of work. A fully furnished 3 BHK on a high floor going to another state is a different job altogether. What matters most is how much you have, which floor you are on and whether there is a lift, and how far it is going.
