The first question everyone asks before shifting is “how much will it cost?”. The honest answer is that it depends on a few clear things. Once you know them, you can compare quotes properly and avoid surprises on moving day.
1. How much you are moving
The volume of goods decides the size of the vehicle and the number of packers. A 1 BHK with basic furniture needs a small truck and a team of three or four, while a fully furnished 3 BHK may need a larger truck and a full day of packing. Sharing a list of items or a short video helps us quote accurately.
2. Distance
A move within Pune, for example from Wakad to Baner, is priced very differently from a move to another city. For intercity moves, fuel, tolls and driver days are part of the price. We move goods from Pune to 70+ cities across India.
3. Floor and lift
Carrying a sofa down five floors by stairs takes more people and more time than using a service lift. Always mention the floor and lift at both the old and the new home.
4. Packing needs
Fragile items, TVs, glass tables and artwork need more material. Wooden crating costs extra but is worth it for valuable pieces.
5. Date and timing
Month-end, weekends and festival seasons are the busiest times. Booking early gets you a better slot and often a better price.
How to get an exact price
Call us or send a WhatsApp video of your home. We send a written quote that includes packing, loading, transport and unloading, so you know the full cost before the move.
6. Vehicles and special items
A car on a carrier or a bike packed in foam adds to the total, but booking them with your household move costs less than booking separately. Heavy or delicate items such as a piano, a large aquarium, a marble table or a safe need extra people and sometimes a wooden crate, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
7. Dedicated truck or shared load
For moves to another city you can choose a dedicated truck, which carries only your goods and reaches fastest, or a shared load, where your goods travel with another customer’s goods going the same way. A shared load costs less and suits a 1 BHK or a few rooms, with a slightly longer delivery window.
How to compare quotes properly
- Check that packing material, loading, unloading and furniture fitting are all included.
- Ask whether the price is for a dedicated truck or a shared load.
- Make sure the quote is in writing, with the date and the list of items.
- Be careful of a quote that is far lower than everyone else’s; extra charges often appear on the day.
Ways to save money on your move
- Sell or donate furniture and appliances you do not need before the move.
- Pack clothes and books yourself, and leave fragile items to the packers.
- Avoid month-end weekends and festival dates if you can.
- For a few items, use few item shifting instead of a full house move.
